The
structure of the home is what gives it shape and strength. The structural inspection
begins at the foundation, which is examined for cracking and surface spalling.
Access to the framing system or "skeleton" of the structure is
limited by surface finishes. The inspector will look for outward clues to its condition,
and also carefully examine the crawl space and attic areas, where accessible. Both
the foundation and framing systems are critical in providing the building with long
lasting stability and comfort.
